Miramonte/Springer Road Neighborhood, Mountain View, California

Housing in the Miramonte/Springer Road area is charming and many of the streets are discreetly surrounded by yards and fence work. The Miramonte Road area shares rustic history with the neighboring Grant Road area; stylistically these two neighborhoods blend together. Miramonte and Grant settlers shared this township. Grape orchards lined this roadway extending throughout the surrounding fields. Farmers populated this area for many years prior to the gradual urbanization of Mountain View. A beautiful example of Dutch Colonial style with craftsman detailing is the Lloyd House c.1900, located on 1655 Lloyd Way. Originally surrounded by farmlands it was recently restored by the Mountain View Preservation Association. During the 1950s locals of the Grant and Miramonte areas enjoyed the Monte Vista drive-in movie theater. Locals also enjoyed Johnny Mac’s Scottish inspired drive-through burger diner.
