Monta Loma/Farley/Rock Street Neighborhoods

The Monte Loma area is a spacious neighborhood bordering the North Bayshore lands. Single family dwellings and townhouses cover stretches of the lower regions of this area. Leghorn Street is home to the historical Ambra Olive Oil Company building, a simple structure with a water tower attachment. Once run by the well known Ambra family, it was built circa 1924 and is still owned by members of the family. The Ambra building is one of Mountain View’s last surviving agricultural buildings. A feature of this neighborhood is its close proximity to neighboring parklands, namely Shoreline Park. Nearby, the Computer History Museum, located on Shoreline Boulevard, tours recent history detailing the technological emergence of Silicon Valley. Various companies line lengthy Shoreline well into the North Bayshore vicinity.

(Includes the boundaries of 101 to the north and Central Expressway to the south. This area’s border touches the edge of the City of Palo Alto, and Shoreline Boulevard runs along the eastern portion of this neighborhood.)
