North Bayshore, Mountain View, CA

Neighborhoods bordering the North Bayshore region include the Moffet/Whisman neighborhood and the Monta Loma neighborhood. North Bayshore is not included in the list of neighborhoods but stands alone as a city of Mountain View favorite. Recreational land for Mountain View residents and welcome to all visitors, Shoreline Regional Park offers golf, kite flying, sailing, a restaurant, and historic tours of Rengstorff House including a calendar of events. One of the West coast’s finest, Rengstorff House was built in 1867 and is recognized as a historical feature of Mountain View. Restored in 1991 and now a museum, the Rengstorff house is an exquisite example of Victorian Italianate architecture. Rengstorff was a German immigrant who traveled to California in response to news of the Gold Rush. He is known as an inventor, community benefactor, business man, and wealthy landowner. Another feature of Mountain View, the Stevens Creek trail way runs the length of Mountain View and eventually enters Shoreline. Shoreline Regional Park also includes Shoreline Amphitheatre. The lower cusp of North Bayshore is home to various Silicon Valley companies.

(San Francisco Bay encompasses the northern region of this area. Highway 101 runs the South of this entire area. )
