Santa Clara
Santa Clara dates back to 1777, when Spanish Missionaries founded the mission of Santa Clara. The actual site of the missionary is currently where Santa Clara University is situated. Outside of the university you’ll find the majesty of any small town downtown. The Triton Museum of Art is certainly a landmark the residents of Santa Clara are proud of. The small, cozy downtown setting is currently undergoing the efforts of the city officials to develop a plan for downtown Santa Clara. Within Santa Clara’s downtown, many ethnic restaurants and shops reflect the diverse backgrounds of Santa Clarians.
While the city boasts its own Convention Center, neighborhoods within the city contain older, more charming homes than those found in Morgan Hill or Los Altos. In general, the family housing in Santa Clara is more affordable than homes found in Mountain View or Cupertino. A short drive away, one can find one of the Bay Area’s best attractions, Great America, which is a famous and family oriented amusement park. Recreational and cultural opportunities are abundant in Santa Clara, as well as in the Bay Region as a whole.
Public transportation makes San Francisco and San Jose easily accessible. A generally temperate climate makes outdoor activities abundantly accessible and is the reason why Santa Clarians have a fond appreciation of nature. Residents are also quite proud of Santa Clara’s recent award of being named an All-America City 2001 by the National Civic League.
Unique among California cities, Palo Alto is a full-service municipality that owns and operates its gas, electric, water, sewer, refuse and storm drainage services at very competitive rates for its customers. Distinctive in every way, Palo Alto offers its business community a diverse and exciting environment in which to work and live.
