- Aptos – Aptos Fourth of July Parade and Celebration. Food, entertainment, games, arts and crafts. 7:30 a.m.-4:30 p.m. Saturday. Pancake breakfast begins at 7:30 a.m., parade 10 a.m. Aptos Village Park, State Park Drive and Soquel Drive. Free admission. No fireworks. 831-688-1467
- Santa Clara – City of Santa Clara Fourth of July All-City Picnic. Pancake breakfast followed by entertainment and family activities. 8 a.m.-5 p.m. Saturday. Central Park, 909 Kiely Blvd. Fireworks 9:30 p.m. 408-615-3140.
- Los Altos – Glorious Fourth Independence Day Celebration. Food, music, entertainment. 11 a.m.-2 p.m. Saturday. No fireworks. Shoup Park, 400 University Ave., Los Altos. Visit www.calendarwiz.com.
- Morgan Hill – Morgan Hill Independence Day. The event begins at 8:15 a.m. Saturday with five-kilometer walk/run and a parade at 10 a.m. downtown. Additionally, there will be a car show immediately following the parade. Entertainment and fireworks viewing will be located at Morgan Hill Community Park. Music begins at 6 p.m., fireworks display when dark. Visit www.mhidi.com.
- Saratoga – Old Fashioned Independence Day Celebration. 10 a.m. Saturday, Azule Park, Saratoga. The event features U.S. Navy and Girl Scout color guards and the McCartysville Volunteer Band. A patriotic parade will be conducted around the park at 10:15 a.m.; all are invited to participate. Children will receive ice cream, a U.S. flag, and a balloon. Spectators are encouraged to bring a cash donation for the Red Cross. 408-252-7447.
- San Jose – San Jose Giants Fireworks Extravaganza. After the baseball games July 4-5. Games start at 6:30 p.m. Municipal Stadium, Senter and East Alma streets, San Jose. The July Fourth display will be an expanded version that may be seen from San Jose State’s East Field (next to Spartan Stadium) or from Kelley Park. 408-297-1435, www.sjgiants.com.
